Check Availability →GlasYx: UV-cured glass repair for small chips and cracks
GlasYx is a DIY glass repair kit for small chips and cracks in windshields and other compatible glass. Its low-viscosity acrylic resin is designed to flow into narrow fractures and then harden when exposed to ultraviolet light.
The repair process is straightforward: apply resin to clean, dry damage, cover it with a curing film and press out trapped air, then expose the area to direct sunlight or a UV lamp. The supplied guidance lists roughly 10–30 minutes of curing time depending on UV intensity.
GlasYx is intended for common bullseye, star, spider or crescent, linear and combination damage up to about 20 cm (8 inches), provided the damage has not reached the edge of the glass and does not pass through both windshield layers.
The resin is designed to cure optically clear and can also be used on compatible side and rear vehicle glass, mirrors, glass tabletops and household glass. Fine surface marks from the original impact can remain visible even after the internal crack is filled.
The kit is listed with 20 ml of resin, five curing films and one application blade, and the unopened resin has a stated 3-year shelf life. Repair suitability depends on the damage: edge-reaching or through-layer cracks fall outside the stated DIY repair limits.

Questions about GlasYx
Repair limits, curing, glass compatibility and kit contents.
It seals the crack, not just cosmetically covers it. The resin cures into a hard bonded fill inside the crack, removing the open gap that can allow the damage to spread under pressure or temperature change.
The supplied product information lists bullseye, star, spider or crescent, linear and combination cracks up to about 20 cm (8 inches), provided the damage has not reached the edge of the glass and does not go through both windshield layers.
The cured resin is described as a permanent fill that does not soften, shrink or require routine reapplication. A repaired area is not the same as glass that was never damaged, so inspect it again if the damage changes.
Wait until the resin has fully cured before driving. The supplied guidance describes the cured fill as restoring the damaged area; damage outside the stated repair limits should be assessed for replacement.
If a crack has reached the edge of the glass or passes through both windshield layers, the supplied guidance says it is not suitable for this repair kit and full replacement may be required.
The resin is applied independently of air temperature, while curing depends on UV exposure. Direct sunlight can work on a cold clear day; without strong sun, a UV lamp is the more reliable option.
The area needs to be clean and dry before application because moisture in the crack can interfere with resin bonding. Dry the glass thoroughly before applying the resin.

The resin is designed to cure optically clear with no residue. Very fine surface marks from the original chip may still be faintly visible up close even when the crack itself is filled and sealed.
The supplied product information also lists mirrors, side and rear vehicle glass, tabletops and household glass. For phone screens, confirm that the damage is limited to the glass layer and does not affect the display underneath.
The unopened kit is listed with a 3-year shelf life. Keep the bottle capped and out of direct sunlight or other UV exposure until it is needed.
The supplied kit contents are 20 ml of resin, five curing films and one application blade. The resin can cover multiple small chips depending on the size of each repair; keep the bottle capped and away from UV between uses.
GlasYx uses UV-curing acrylic resin in a DIY format. The main difference is that you prepare, fill, cure and finish the repair yourself rather than having a technician perform the work.
Many modern vehicles use cameras or sensors near the windshield for driver-assistance systems. Windshield replacement can require recalibration of those systems; requirements and costs vary by vehicle and region.
No additional tool is listed for a standard repair. A UV lamp is optional when reliable direct sunlight is not available.
